Lucian Tucker III

Still
curious.

I spend a lot of time thinking about things, learning how they work, and occasionally trying to make something of my own.

A few things I keep coming back to.

What makes
us, us?

I've always been interested in why people think and behave the way they do. How much of who we are is nature versus nurture? I enjoy exploring philosophy, psychology, sociology, and science to help answer those questions.

One question usually leads to another.

Possible
worlds.

I like stories that leave me thinking long after I've finished them. Science fiction is particularly good at that. Writers like Ted Chiang and Jorge Luis Borges have a way of taking an idea and pushing it somewhere unexpected.

And as life becomes, in some ways, stranger than fiction, I find myself increasingly drawn to AI, immersive technology, and what life might look like beyond the technological singularity.

One thing I’ve written about
Ink illustration of drumsticks, a practice pad, and piano keys dissolving into rhythmic brushstrokes.

A different kind of making.

I also like making music. Mostly electronic, though I can strum a tune and tap a snare. And every now and then, I'll write a rhyme, whether it's a poem or a song.

Into miniature prisons.
Dare you to escape.

Some things I’ve been making

Design.
Development.
Product.

Somewhere along the way, my interest in how things work turned into a career. I've spent time in design, development, content management, and product management. Working across those disciplines has helped me see ideas and problems from different perspectives, from figuring out what's useful to actually making it happen.

Still figuring
things out

Some ideas become projects. Others turn into something I want to write about. This site is where I share a bit of both, along with whatever else catches my interest.

It's also an experiment of its own. I'm building it with what I'm calling Sans CMS, a project exploring what website management could look like without a traditional CMS.
